Our board members bring a broad myriad of skills 

and partnerships to help achieve our mission. 

• Michael Osborne and "Smitty" Smith worked for years promoting clean energy policies while helping to launch Texas' successful renewable energy boom.  
• Janis Bookout is Chair of EarthDay Austin and has a long history of community leadership. 
• Cary Ferchill is an attorney with a strong energy-utility background. 
• John Hall has held several leadership positions including Chair of the Texas Water Commission and most recently VP of the Texas Environmental Defense Fund's Clean Energy and Environmental Justice programs. 
• Patricia Zavala is a Senior Analyst with JOLT, a statewide Latino advocacy group  focusing on equity across a broad spectrum of issues including climate change, education, access,  inclusion, and more.

The TxETRA Education Fund is a  501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed in 2020, which serves as the public education arm of TxETRA, our (c)(6) policy and advocacy organization. TxETRA (Texas Electric Transportation Resources Alliance) was founded in April 2018 to help develop and promote the policy and partnerships that will lead Texas into a clean, advanced electric transportation future. 

The Education fund is chartered to promote the adoption and use of electric transportation through research and education of the public. Currently, our key projects are the South Central Texas Electric Transportation Compact and the North Texas Electric Transportation Compact.
